Refunds and Receipts
When a trip does not happen, Trip fees, guest protection, taxes, extras, and delivery refund in full. Only the guest cancellation charge attached to the plan you chose can be kept.
Prelaunch: Live guest bookings are not open yet. The figures below reflect the cancellation choices currently configured for launch; the terms shown at checkout will govern the trip.
How refund amounts are calculated
You choose one of three plans at checkout:
| Plan | Price | Guest cancellation charge |
|---|---|---|
| Flexible | +10% | Free until 24 hours before pickup; then one day's trip price |
| Standard | Base | Free until 3 days before pickup; one day from 3 days to 24 hours; 50% inside 24 hours |
| Saver | −10% | No trip-price refund after booking grace |
If you booked at least 3 days before pickup, all three plans include 24-hour booking grace with a full refund of everything. Outside grace, only the plan's charge calculated from the adjusted trip price is kept. It is paid 100% to the host; Carvia takes no commission from it.

Charges after a trip starts
If a trip has already started, the pre-trip cancellation calculation no longer applies. Any refund or adjustment depends on what happened during the trip. Documented post-trip incidentals—such as tolls, eligible tickets, fuel, and additional distance—are separate from the cancellation refund.
Where to find your detailed receipt
Each trip has a full itemized receipt available from Trips:
- Open Trips and select the trip you want.
- Select Detailed receipt.
- Review the complete document, including the trip price, fees, guest protection, extras, delivery, taxes, credits, refunds, and any posted incidentals.
- Use Share PDF or Download PDF when you need to send or save the complete receipt.
The receipt reflects the latest posted trip ledger. A pending refund or incidental may appear after its payment event is recorded.
Where the refund goes
Once a refund is issued, it goes back to the original payment method used to book. Bank and card processing times vary. If you do not see it, contact support with your trip ID.
