Vehicle Inspection Requirements

A vehicle needs a current approved annual inspection before it can be publicly listed and while it remains marketplace-eligible.

Prelaunch: Upload the annual inspection while preparing the private listing. It must be reviewed and approved before the vehicle can go live.

Submit the inspection

  1. Have the vehicle inspected by a qualified provider using an accepted annual safety-inspection record.
  2. Open the vehicle from Host vehicles.
  3. Go to Safety & inspection.
  4. Upload the private inspection document and submit it for review.
  5. Follow the recorded review status and note if operations requests a correction.

The private document is available to the vehicle owner and authorized operations reviewers. Uploading it does not approve it automatically.

Before listing review

A submitted annual inspection is part of listing readiness. The listing cannot enter or complete the public listing transition without the required inspection state, and public vehicle views require a current approved inspection.

Expiration and material changes

If an approved inspection expires without renewal, a listed vehicle is moved to Snoozed and is removed from public marketplace eligibility. Existing trips are not automatically cancelled by that listing-status change.

Changing material vehicle identity or mileage can also expire an existing approval because the reviewed document must continue to match the vehicle record. Submit a current inspection before trying to relist the vehicle.

Keep the record current

Renew before expiration and confirm that the vehicle identity and mileage in the listing remain accurate. The active approval's stored expiration date, not merely the upload date, controls marketplace eligibility.
