Delivery and Non-Airport Pickup

A listing can offer the vehicle's normal pickup location and one or more active delivery locations, each with its own disclosed fee and handoff method.

Prelaunch: Live guest bookings are not open yet. Delivery settings on private host listings are being prepared for launch.

What appears on a listing

An active delivery option can include:

  • A location name and service area
  • A delivery fee
  • An in-person, lockbox, remote-unlock, or other coordinated handoff
  • Instructions shared at the appropriate point in the trip

Hosts configure fleet locations and then apply or tune them per vehicle. A delivery option is available only when it is active and the trip qualifies for that location.

Pricing

Choose the offered pickup or delivery location before checkout. The selected delivery fee appears in the itemized quote and is saved with the booking. Do not agree to an undisclosed delivery charge at handoff.

The current host vehicle editor does not offer a free-delivery-threshold control. If the quote shows $0 delivery, rely on that quote; do not assume a longer trip becomes free automatically.

Handoff

  • In person: meet at the confirmed point and complete the normal check-in before driving away.
  • Lockbox or remote unlock: follow the access instructions, document the vehicle at pickup, and submit the guest check-in even though the host is not standing with you.
  • Fixed host pickup: this is the vehicle's regular pickup location rather than paid delivery.

The platform does not require a host to keep a generic set of “photos from the last seven days” for remote delivery. The evidence that matters is the trip-specific check-in and checkout record.

If plans change

Message the host in Carvia as early as possible. A different location or handoff method may require host approval and a refreshed trip quote. Do not assume a message alone changed the booked location; verify the trip details.

Check-in and checkout

Guest web uses the protected exterior and dashboard uploads described in the Help guides. The Carvia app provides the fuller guided inspection. The host completes a separate confirmation on either platform.
